Join Us for the 2025 "Women in Sustainability Leadership Event" to celebrate International Women's Day (IWD)!
Location: Wehr Nature Center, 9701 W College Ave, Franklin, WI 53132
Our 2025 event, proudly co-hosted by USGBC Wisconsin, SBC's Women in Sustainability, Evolution Marketing, and B Local Wisconsin invites YOU to join us on March 11th for a powerful celebration of International Women’s Day.
This year’s IWD theme is #AccelerateAction. Focusing on the need to Accelerate Action emphasizes the importance of taking swift and decisive steps to achieve gender equality. It calls for increased momentum and urgency in addressing the systemic barriers and biases women face, both personally and professionally.
Our Interactive Program will challenge attendees to reflect on their spheres of influence and provide actionable strategies for accelerating action in gender equity. This program is designed to empower sustainability leaders and #changemakers across industries, including green building, environmental, and social impact professions to be leaders in the spaces.
We are thrilled to announce that the 2025 Workshop will be presented by August M. Ball and called: "Allyship in Action: Addressing Gender Discrimination in the Workplace Through Communication and Art." This engaging and thought-provoking session will provide practical tools for identifying and addressing sexism, fostering allyship, and building inclusive workplace cultures.
Each year, we align our discussions with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), a vital framework for advancing collective impact. The UN Social Development Network reminds us that achieving the SDGs requires collaboration and an intersectional approach that considers diverse identities, communities, and experiences.
Let’s drive change together! Join us for this inspiring event and help forge a sustainable, inclusive future.
WORKSHOP DESCRIPTION
The 2025 Workshop will be presented by August M. Ball: "Allyship in Action: Addressing Gender Discrimination in the Workplace Through Communication and Art"
A unique feature of this workshop will be incorporating art as a means of reflection and affirmation. Participants will contribute to a collaborative art piece, symbolized by a tree and its leaves, representing growth and support. Through the lens of micro-affirmations, participants will develop actionable strategies to create a more inclusive and supportive workplace culture.
Join us for this engaging session where we’ll explore how small, intentional acts can make a big impact in building equitable workplace environments.
